There’s just something about a good old-fashioned vacation in the woods. Some of us are drawn to a log cabin vacation because of the unparalleled mountain views during the day and the cozy conversations by the fireside in the evenings. Others love the convenient access to the slopes and other winter fun. No matter your preference, there’s a dreamy Airbnb or Vrbo homestay for you.

After researching dozens of log cabins in the U.S. and Canada, we compiled a list of 27 of our absolute favorites. We’re sure one will fit the bill for the winter getaway of your dreams.

The 2,000-square-foot cabin has a charming design with modern amenities like a pool table and a six-person hot tub.

Located on 10 acres of woods, the forest around Alder Lake Lookout is lovely, but the front and center, unobstructed views of Mount Rainier are just unbelievable. The floor-to-ceiling windows guarantee you incredible views of Mount Rainier in all its glory, either from the comfort of the couch or from the sprawling deck.

Lake Tahoe transforms into a winter wonderland during the colder months. This newly renovated 1963 A-frame will keep you warm, and it will keep you close to the action, too! While you’re lounging at home, don’t forget to soak in the hot tub and enjoy the back deck.

Why rent one gorgeous cabin when you can rent two? These two custom-built cabins provide all the coziness of a cabin but with plenty of room to spread out and get comfortable. With Sol Duc river access and plenty of land to explore, these log cabins will be fun for a group of friends or family.

This nearly 5,500-square-foot getaway is well suited for large groups like family reunions.
